I am trying to find out if there are going to be any further books in the Storm Syrrell series after The Black Madonna. I have loved every single book I ever read by you, and I have read every one, except for the Christmas one, which I missed (I rectificed that situation tonight). I do have to say that the Storm Syrrell adventures are some of the most magnificent books you have written yet, and I REALLY hope there are going to be more of them!

Thanks so much for your comment, Susan. At present, this has been slated as a two-book series. But Storm and her friends remain very close to my heart and mind, even though for me it has been almost exactly a year now since I finished working on the second book.

In that period, let’s see. I have written the third book with Janette in our trilogy based upon the Book of Acts (Journey to Damascus, due out in January), I have written a new book which is slated to begin a new series (The Book Of Dreams, due out in September), and I’m hard at work on a third story.

And yet there are moments, especially in the middle of the night, when Harry Bennett gives me a mental poke in the ribs and says, Hey, let’s go find more treasure.

How am I supposed to refuse an offer like that?

So who know. Maybe there will be a third. Someday.

In any case, thanks for writing.

Thanks for your quick and wonderful reply. You gave me hope about the Storm Syrrell series, AND told me about two other stories to add to my list! Amazing! I have already pre-ordered Journey to Damascus, and I have added The Book of Dreams to my list. Thank you so much!

Susan asked the question I was wondering about. I hope Harry does prod you into another story. Love that series! Thank you so much!

I just finished the Black Madonna for the second time. We really need a 3rd installment, please!!!!!!!!! I read it first, and then I read Gold of Kings, so naturally I had to reread The Black Madonna. I’ve come to love these characters. Raphael and Storm, Harry and Emma, they’ve just come to a turning point in their lives, they deserve a chance to live. (I am thinking like the writer I will be, not a reader out of touch with reality, LOL).

I know, I know. I did plan on being there with this third installment already. But I have a new series that begins with these publishers (Howard/Simon and Schuster) in the fall of this year, entitled Book of Dreams. They are very excited about this, and have already asked me to do a sequel. So yes, I do plan at some point to return to these characters. They have become dear friends of mine as well. Right now, however, I can’t say when that will be. 2013 at the earliest.

I really enjoyed both books in the series. They are the first that I’ve read by you. The end of The Black Madonna seemed to be cut short. What happened between Storm and Raphael? I hope you do get the time to write a 3rd book because the second has left me wanting to read more! Thanks for writing an book filled with action and adventure without the crudness of the world. I hope to explore more of your writings.

I have to be honest and say The Black Madonna disappointed me. I have your Florian’s Gate so it seems a re hash …Father Gregor turns up:)
I felt the book needed a map as there was so much flying between here and there. The fact that BOTH men get injured was weird but what bothered me most was NO faith mentioned, which isn’t like you Davis:)
The poor little girl was dying and all Storm could focus on was the painting:(
I would have at least had Storm offer to pray for her.
Never mind, I really like Harry and Emma’s relationship:)
Plus you get the politics right!

I just finished The Black Madonna in Dutch. Oh…is it such a good book! I really love the way you write. I never heard of the Black Madonna before, and I find it very interesting to know all these little details about it. I like it really much to read a book that is not only good, not only there are a few parts at which you can say: ‘oh, this is so romantic..’;), but there is a lot of suspense too! It’s complicated and you have to pay close attention to the things you’re reading. But that keeps you focussed. I learned much after reading these 2 books. Not only did I learn just facts about King Herod’s gold or the Black Madonna, but also spiritual things. On one side I can understand what Tracey is saying, and missed that no faith was mentioned, but at the other side I really liked it this way. You kind have to search for it. Somewhere underneath there was peace at times of trouble. There was faith when no faith was mentioned.

Oh I find it really hard to put into English words the things I have in mind!;) But well, let’s just say I loved it:) Really. Next week I will go to our local library again and search for more of your books.

I’m afraid I have to wait a few more years, but I’m looking forward to book 3 in Dutch;)

The Storm Syrrell Adventure Series was REALLY REALLY good!!! It sounds like you have some really good publishers. So many are pulling back because of the economy. I read your books every chance I get. I have reccomended them to several people.
